Ace Kouture is a brand that is very special to me and my journey into investing my coins in black-owned businesses. It was my first conscious purchase with the intent to support a business made by and owned by black people only. The very first start of several purchases from various black owned companies. Can y'all count how many times I said black? LOL! Let's continue though.

Three years ago, Ace Kouture, a clothing brand created by two Nigerian sisters (whew, black women and entrepreneurship is a whole mood) was born. This brand prides themselves in their meticulous eye for colours, designs and, wax prints. One of their brand missions is to provide diverse and unique fashion pieces to a multitude of women ranging from various from size, shape, age etc.

I first came across the brand after seeing someone I follow on Instagram attend their two day pop-up shop in Toronto. At the time, I wanted to check out the items however much to my discontent, the event had already finished. Even though I was not planning to seriously buy an item, which I might add, are one of the few lies I tell myself when shopping, I decided to go on their website and check out the clothes they have.

It has been months since I made my purchase but, I remember spending a few hours on their site. To be blunt, it was hard to choose, I wanted everything! After careful decision making, I ended up ordering a romper.

Once I got my shipping information, I eagerly waited. Checking every hour of the day just to see if my tracking information updated. For three whole days, I religiously looked at my email until, finally my package came! The excitement was REAL.

I ordered the Uzoma' Romper/Playsuit (sold out now). Now, I do not usually wear jumpsuits or rompers, ONLY for the simple fact that I do not want to be stripping down my entire outfit to go to the washroom. Despite all of that, out of all the items on the website I kept looking back at that specific page.

When I tried on the romper it was a peculiar feeling, it was my first-time wearing clothing with wax print. The texture felt different from any of my other clothes nonetheless, I was pleased with the item. I have worn the romper on many occasions and I really enjoy how it looks on me. It is super stylish and can be dressed up or down depending on the event. Pair it up with a nice tall heel and a statement jewelry and accessory to complete this 'fit.

Even though I have only ordered from this store once, I can truly attest to the overall quality and customer service of the brand. When I needed to change my shipping address, their customer service representative responded promptly and fulfilled my request. Bonus, I waited less than a week for my package. Ace Kouture is definitely on my list of brands to order from again.

If you're residing in the GTA, or are visiting Toronto in the next this week, Ace Kouture will be hosting a pop-up store on Saturday, December 21st, 2019. This is the perfect opportunity to see their beautiful pieces, physically try on their clothes or buy any last-minute Christmas gifts for the holidays!

Well that's it on this post, let me know your thoughts. I am not sure if I will be posting another post before the year ends but keep on the lookout for updates on my socials!

Share or leave a comment! I'd appreciate it!
